Dixon Transport has successfully moved its UK Depot from Rugby to Coventry as part of an ambitious expansion strategy for the company. The new site will allow for this expansion, with an additional 50 trailer spaces on site for the fleet, and is fully equipped to provide international drivers a comfortable place to rest.
Dixon International has steadily increased its volume, through current and new clients, since setting up in Rugby, UK in 2015. The UK team now has 41 staff and a fleet of 25 UK registered trucks, 13 of which are operated day and night by two separate crews (10 of which are CNG trucks providing maximum benefits in Co2 reductions)
Dixon Transport MD, Michael Dixon said “We are thrilled to have moved into the new site at Coventry after actively looking for a suitable depot for the past two years. It has been a difficult process to find the right site and in the right area which would cater for all of our needs with the growing UK fleet. This new site in Coventry will allow for continued expansion and gives our UK team access to additional state-of-the-art facilities.”
The new depot comprises a three-acre site to allow parking for the entire UK fleet and access for the Irish Fleet travelling to and from Europe. Additional features include:
- Plug in points are available for refrigerated trailers.
- CCTV and Electric gates for security and access control.
- The depot is equipped with a canteen and showers for international drivers.
- State of the art workshop for vehicle maintenance
- Extensive Warehouse space
“The move from Rugby into Coventry wouldn’t have been possible without the help of all our team who have worked away behind the scenes to make it such a seamless transition. A special thanks goes out to Phil Stallard, Depot Manager; Adam Boyes, Planning and Paul Mc Grath, Planning & Driver Training who played a shared role in the extensive planning of the move. The smooth transition for both the business and customers has been phenomenal to see and my thanks goes out to all those involved,” said Michael Dixon.
