International Women’s Day 2022 at Dixon International Logistics

Today is International Women’s Day, where we celebrate the contributions and success of Women across all aspects of society.

The theme for IWD 2022 is “Break the Bias” (#breakthebias) which targets a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated.

At Dixon International Logistics, we are very proud of and thankful for the work the women in our business contribute day in and day out. We are also huge advocates of promoting employment of women within the logistics and warehouse sector.

Within the past 12 months, over 85% of our new staff hires in both the office and warehouse have been female. We are now proud to say we have female staff working in transport planning, accounts, customs, warehouse operations and facility maintenance. We also have female truck drivers working out of both our Dublin and Coventry sites.

To recognise our great women staff, we wanted to give an insight into some of their roles and responsibilities within the company, and what they like best about working at Dixon International.

Mihaela Bajdiu – Warehouse Lead. “I first started in October 2020 as Warehouse Administrator at Dixon’s. My daily work includes checking specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in orders, maintaining and updating records and adjusting discrepancies between physical counts and computer records. I also regularly liaise with customers confirming daily orders and queries, as well as reviewing orders to ensure work is performed according to specifications. What I love about my job is that every day brings a new challenge. I am continually learning and my co-workers are awesome. They are truly like family, and we are a great team”

Teodora Rogojina – UK Imports Administrator. “I have been working in the UK Imports team at Dixon for almost 5 months,. My main attributions at the moment are customer care related and admin work. Helping customers and drivers with their enquiries, updating the system accordingly etc. My team is amazing, professional, respectful and generous. I am very happy with them and the company in general.”

Kathleen Reilly – Accounts Administrator. “I have been here for two years now I like my job it is a busy role, What I like most about Dixons is the environment and the people I work with.”

Andrea Sadric – European Imports Administrator. “I work in EU Imports as Planner/Administrator. Part of my job is customer service, communicating with drivers and finding loads. I’m here for almost a year now and the best part is the work atmosphere. Everyone is nice, helpful and can joke around, making my day a bit better.

Kinga McInerney – Customs Administrator. “My job here is to create and process customs paperwork and this allows shipments to be moved. I like work atmosphere within my department and the people I directly work with are great.

Dixon International Logistics will continue to champion the role of women within the logistics sector and will do our bit to #breakthebias and ensure equality within what is traditionally a male dominated industry.
