There was great excitement this past week as Dixon International Logistics took delivery of the brand new revolutionary Releye® RLP container from Envirotainer.
Envirotainer is the world leader in air-transportation solutions for temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals. The new Releye® RLP container is the fifth product on offer from Envirotainer to go alongside their existing RAP e2, RKN e1, RAP t2 and RKN t2 containers.
For the past 5 years Envirotainer have located their ground handling service at Dixon International Logistics in St Margaret’s, Dublin.
Dixon International Logistics are responsible for all storage, ground handling of incoming and outgoing Envirotainer units and have a dedicated team working full time managing Envirotainer requirements. In addition to ground handling, Dixon have a fully trained Envirotainer maintenance team on site with any damaged units typically repaired within 24 hours.
Logistics Manager for Dixon International Logistics, Colum Aungier, was excited for the arrival of the new container. “Having worked closely with Envirotainer since 2016, it really is great to see the new Releye® RLP arriving to market and we are particularly pleased to have been part of the journey for the past 5 years. The technology behind the Releye® RLP is incredible. We are really looking forward to working with the unit over the coming months, and I am sure it will lead to further success for Envirotainer as the market leader in the industry.”
Launched on 5th May 2021, the Envirotainer Releye® RLP container offers fully redundant performance, and a human-error preventive design, leading to consistent temperature-control in every type of situation such as temperature extremes or unplanned door openings.
In addition, Releye® RLP offers 360 monitoring which gives real time information on several data points including location, temperature, battery level, and humidity. This is achieved through 18 integrated sensors within the container.
Other key features of the Envirotainer Releye® RLP include:
– Over 170 hours of unattended operation, thus reducing dependency on human intervention.
– Releye® RLP achieves up to a 90% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to passive solutions.
– Releye® RLP introduces a new footprint that exploits the space of two 1-pallet solution to house three Euro pallets, saving more than 50% on air freight.
Wayne Joyce, who manages day to day Envirotainer operations on site at Dixon, is thrilled to see the Releye® RLP come to market. “Working with the units day in and day out, you really do get a great sense of pride when something like this arrives to the warehouse. I personally feel it will be a game changer in the industry as there is nothing else like it out there. The ground handling team and I can’t wait to get to work with the Releye® RLP and look forward to continued growth working alongside Envirotainer.”
